Discover Georgia
Georgia is a state full of divers experiences; from the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains to the coastal lowlands. The best way to sample this breathtaking landscape is from the comfort of your rental RV from Cruise America. Atlanta is a great place to start your journey, and you can choose from either of our RV rental locations there. Now obviously, you don’t want to just stay in one place … that’s why our rental RVs have wheels on them! The best way to see Georgia is to head out and travel the state in comfort and style, as the best views in the state are from the windows of your Cruise America Georgia rental RV.
Not only is the landscape breathtaking, but the charm of the small towns along the roadways of the Peach State are all enticing in their own way. One great road-trip to take in your motorhome rental is from Atlanta to Augusta, taking in the scenery and the charming stops along the way.
While in Atlanta, enjoy a tour of the extensive collection of classic to contemporary art at the High End Museum of Art. You can take in a play or concert at the Woodruff Arts Center, or visit the Contemporary Art Center and the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. Visit the Georgia Aquarium and say hello to any of the 120,000 animals they house there. Meander amongst an intriguing collection at the World of Coca Cola Museum, or feel the spirit of competition as you visit the site of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, Centennial Olympic Park. You can even go “behind the scenes” on a tour of the CNN Studios. Oh, and there’s plenty of prime RV camping in Atlanta, so spend as much time as you like in the big city.
After visiting Atlanta, you’ll probably be ready to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and head out into the open country. Here are a few ideas of things you can do with your family in your rental RV from Cruise America.
Point your rental motorhome in the direction of the Antebellum Trail, and find a world of knowledge and sites of the pre-Civil War era. Most of the towns along this route remained unscathed during the Civil War conflicts, so there are a great number of architectural structures that are worth the time to explore. Take a tour of the 1801 Eagle Tavern Museum in Watkinsville, and take a drive over the 1897 Elder Mill Covered Bridge. Skip making dinner in the kitchen of your Cruise America rental RV and head over to the renowned Chops and Hops Restaurant for some ribs and a brew.
Once you’ve spent a peaceful night in the comfort of your rental motorhome, then head south to the tree-lined streets of Madison, where you can take in the sights of the historical homes and buildings. Take a tour of the Greek Revival home built in 1811. You can then pilot your Cruise America RV rental to Georgia’s Antebellum capital, Milledgeville, where you can take a guided trolley tour through the old city. Next, head to Eatonton and visit the Uncle Remus Museum, and then head to the Jarrell Plantation—a cotton plantation and state historic site located in Juliette, Georgia.
Next, head into Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and take in the scenery and fresh air, as well as some old-timey Appalachian culture. Your trip could begin by touring one of the wine vineyards in Dahlonega, then heading to Blue Ridge. You could stop in Suches to go on a short hike to cross the bridge to see Sea Creek Falls in the Toccoa River. You’ll be deep in the Chattahoochee National Forest, so don’t expect to find any fast food restaurants for snacking … you’ll have to bring in your goodies!
Once you get to Blue Ridge, you’ll love the quaint shops of downtown, where there are plenty of souvenir items you can purchase as momentums of your journey. Take a ride on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. It’s just a hop, skip and a jump to get to Cherry Log, where you can learn all about the infamous Sasquatch at Expedition Bigfoot. After lunch, head to Amicalola Falls State Park where you can lay your eyes on the tallest waterfall in the South.
Once you’ve spent time in the mountains, you may want to consider heading to the coast for some time on the beach, or perhaps to Macon for a Civil War tour. It honestly doesn’t matter in which direction you point your rental RV from Cruise America, you’re bound to make memories for the entire family—memories that will last a lifetime.
