Best Campgrounds Near Germany State Park

New Germany State Park Campground

Take proximity off the list of your concerns by staying at the New Germany State Park Campground. The campsites are situated in a private shaded area and provide access to restrooms, hot showers, and purified water. Keep in mind that not all sites can accommodate motorhomes. On top of that, only sites 34 and 58 offer electric hookups. 

Alternatively, you can stay at a fully-furnished cabin and spend those chilly winter nights right by a wood stove.

Sleepy Hollow Campground

If low costs, wooded sites, and privacy sound like good deals, then Sleepy Hollow Campground is for you. Visitors get access to a newly-renovated bathhouse that’s clean and conveniently located. While there are no laundry facilities on-site, you can find some in Grantsville, which is only 10 minutes away. While there are no sewer/water hookups, you are allowed to bring a generator.

If you’re seeking a sensational overnight stay with multiple on-site services, consider Double G RV Park. The sites offer full hookups. Plus, they come with fire rings, picnic tables, and water/sewer hookups. Visitors get access to a shared Wi-Fi service (streaming is not permitted). However, guests get access to free cable television. If you need any supplies for your trip, stop by the local camp store.

Yough Lake Campground

Yough Lake Campground is the perfect selection for a lakeside getaway. The 16-mile Youghiogheny River is a haven for power boating and waterskiing. Best Time To Visit New Germany State Park

Spring

In April, you can expect an average high of 59 degrees Fahrenheit with an average low of 35.7 degrees. By May, the average high goes up to 68 degrees, making this period an ideal time for hiking and wildlife exploration. Do keep in mind that spring is the rainiest season in Garrett County.

Summer
