Choose from small, standard and large RVs from our expansive fleet of quality class C motorhomes. No matter which size is right for you, Cruise America makes booking and renting easy.
Greensboro is packed full of attractions, so the fun is never-ending! It's located in the center of the picturesque heartland of North Carolina, making it perfect for traveling in a Cruise America rental RV. From art galleries to zoos, from butterfly farms to museums, you can choose from over 135 attractions located right in Greensboro. If you get tired of cooking in your motorhome, you have over 500 restaurants to choose from. As far as a base location, there are 10 RV parks nearby where you can set up camp.
If you decide to venture out of Greensboro for some short trips, there are a myriad of options. As an example:
For a taste of hospitality Vanderbilt style, visit the Biltmore Estate and Gardens. Get there by taking I-40 west to Asheville and take exit 50B (U.S. Highway 25 North). After exiting, stay in the left lane and follow the signs to the Biltmore entrance. This brings you and your traveling party to the Biltmore House and Gardens. Explore America's largest home and see what life is like on the estate as you learn the rich history of this wondrous place. You can take the Audio Guided Tour, which will take you through all of the rooms in the estate that are open to the public. The estate is open daily from 9AM to 5PM and the gardens are open from 9AM to 6PM.
From Biltmore Estates, you can take I-40 E for 87 miles (2 miles east of Claremont) and you will come to the Bunker Hill Covered Bridge. This is an historic landmark, as it is one of only two covered bridges left in the state of North Carolina. The bridge was built in 1895, and spans 85 feet across Lyle's Creek. This interesting piece of history was designed by Herman Haupt, a well known Civil War engineer. This bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Less than an hour's drive from the Bunker Hill Bridge is Carowinds Theme Park, otherwise known as the "Thrill Capital of the Southeast." You can get there by driving your rental RV on NC-16 S/I-485 for 53 miles. Once there, you will enjoy rides and attractions for every member of your family. Start your adrenaline pumping on thrill rides like the Intimidator or the Nighthawk, or slow things down a bit on the family rides, such as the Character Carousel or Woodstock's Express. There is live entertainment and never-ending things to see and do at this 400-acre park. If you are there during the summer, you and your family can enjoy the Boomerang Bay Water Park, which is included in the price of admission to Carowinds. If you want to make this a multi-day visit, you can park your RV at the Carowinds Camp Wilderness Resort, where there are over 140 deluxe RV sites with full hookups for water, sewer and electric. Hours are seasonal, so check before visiting.
No matter what you're looking for in your next vacation, Cruise America's North Carolina RV rental options have you covered.
