If you want to experience the glitz and glamour that Las Vegas provides, take advantage of our Cruise America Las Vegas RV rentals. In the middle of the Nevada desert lays an oasis of non-stop entertainment. You may choose to soak it all in while traveling in an RV, which is perfect, because there are some hotels that allow RV camping right at their location. For instance:
Circus Circus Hotel and Casino – Circus Circus offers an RV park full of amenities, which is in addition to the 3,700-room tower. The RV park can accommodate close to 400 recreational vehicles and provides a swimming pool, dump stations and even runs for your pet. As an RV guest, you are allowed to use the special facilities inside the hotel, which include an indoor amusement park complete with rides and games, as well as several circus acts that perform throughout the day in the Adventuredome. There are 8 different restaurants if you choose to skip cooking in the RV. There is even more entertainment for the grownups in the full-scale casino and the shopping promenade.
America's Best Value Inn – This hotel is located directly across the street from the MGM Grand hotel, and is within walking distance to the strip. The Inn has a 24-hour café and complimentary parking for your RV, however, no camping.
There are several beautiful RV parks in Las Vegas where you can station your rental motorhome and take a shuttle along the strip when you desire. There are a number of activities in Vegas, from spectacular shows to massive, luxurious casinos, and amazing appetite-satisfying buffets. There is no shortage of things to see and do on the strip and downtown, but if you decide to leave the bright lights for a while and get away on a day trip, here are a couple of ideas:
Just a hop, skip and a jump from Las Vegas is the Hoover Dam. You can watch the introductory film in the visitor's center before taking the tour of the inside of the massive structure. You will take two elevator rides; the first is to get to the visitor's center from the parking level. The second takes you 530 feet down through the rock wall of Black Canyon to a tunnel that was drilled in the 1930s. You will view the 8 enormous turbines that produce electricity for not only Las Vegas, but also for other cities as well. You'll visit the penstock viewing platform, which is perched on top of one of the four 30' diameter pipes. These massive conduits accommodate 90,000 gallons of water per second from Lake Mead to the hydroelectric generators. You will see many displays that explain all about the dam, and you will venture outside to the observation deck … if you can stomach looking down that far! It takes less than an hour to get to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas. Just follow US-95 S to US-93 S and continue to the dam.
Another great day trip would be to the Grand Canyon. This natural wonder of the world is truly a majestic sight, and worthy of a visit. There are RV accommodations right there at the canyon, as well as all around the area. It takes about four hours to get there, but it's well worth the trip. You will be amazed at the splendor of the massive canyon, slowly carved into the face of the land by the rushing waters of the Colorado River. To get there, follow US-93 S and I-40 E to AZ-64 N/Historic Rte 66, then turn left and follow AZ-64 N to the canyon.
Wherever you go, in and around the "Entertainment Capital of the World," you'll be comfortable and stress-free as you kick back in your Cruise America RV.
