1. Silver Springs State Park

Situated right in Silver Springs, Florida, you’ll find a gorgeous and shaded campground that is perfect for anyone who loves boating and hiking. Silver Springs State Park is renowned for its famous glass-bottom boat tours that give riders a great view of the wildlife swimming below. 

The park has over 4,000 acres and plenty to explore, along with a 5-mile river encompassed by forest. Between having one of the most significant springs in the state and an abundance of animals, this historic area should be at the top of every RVer’s list.

Amenities: At Silver Springs State Park, 59 campsites can accommodate single-families and individuals. The maximum vehicle length for this campground is 50 feet. Each site comes with a fire pit, BBQ grill, and picnic table. The grounds have connectivity to most cell phone service providers and 50, 30, 20, and 15 electric hookups, restrooms, and showers. Pets are allowed on the premises.

2. Jonathan Dickinson State Park

Open 365 days a year and located on the Central Coast, Jonathan Dickinson State Park spans 11,500 acres of land and offers numerous outdoor activities. Canoeing, hiking, picnicking, cycling, nature studying, and camping are a few of the endless ways to spend quality time outside in the fresh air. There’s even a sandy beach area that allows for swimming in the warmer months. 

History buffs will be excited to know that the park was once the home of a secret radar training school during WWII. Visitors can explore what’s left of the buildings. 

Amenities: There are 122 campsites suitable for RV camping on two campgrounds — The Pine Grove and The River Campground. The maximum RV length for the Pine Grove campground is 40 feet, and the full size for The River is 36 feet.

Amenities and services include bathhouses, BBQ grills, concession, dishes and tableware, a dump station, electric hookups, and more. Within 10 miles of the campgrounds are a beach, grocery store, restaurant, and a golf course.

3. Grayton Beach State Park 

Next on our list of Florida state parks with RV camping is Grayton Beach State Park. This locale has repeatedly ranked as one of the country’s most pristine and beautiful beaches, making it a top-notch place to camp. 

This 2,000-acre park offers visitors the opportunity to embrace nature on the Gulf Coast along the Florida panhandle. Swimming, boating, sunbathing, snorkeling, fishing, star gazing, kayaking, hiking, and surfing are just a few of the area’s most loved activities. 

Amenities: The campground at Grayton Beach State Park has 59 campsites that can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. Grayton Beach State Park has an array of amenities, including BBQ grills, shower houses, a boat launch, drinking water, electrical hookups, picnic tables, and vending machines. Pets are allowed at the campsites but not inside the building.

4. Myakka River State Park

Located near Sarasota and home to 37,000 beautiful acres is Myakka River State Park. This is an RV camping destination perfect for anyone looking to find a deeper connection with nature.

Kayaking, 39 miles of hiking, alligator watching, and pontoon boat rides are just a few of the entertaining activities possible at this state park. History buffs will love the Myakka River for its early 20th century-old buildings once part of a ranch. Overall, this is one of the Florida state parks with RV camping that is truly worth a visit. 

Amenities: The maximum RV length for Myakka River State Park varies between campgrounds and ranges between 20 and 35 feet. The campground at Myakka River has 50, 30, and 20 amp hookups. Plus, the grounds offer boat rental, boat ramps, water access, playground, picnic tables, and fire pits. RVers can utilize the on-site dump stations. Pets are allowed on the premises, and former guests rave about the lack of noise in the evenings.

5. Lake Kissimmee State Park

If you’re into camping and cowboy life, here’s another Florida state park with RV camping to add to your list. Lake Kissimmee is a 6,000-acre landscape full of marvelous oak trees and wildlife ranging from alligators to eagles. 

Besides kayaking, hiking, boating, and typical outdoor activities, Lake Kissimmee State Park is also home to the 1876-era Cow Camp, where visitors can live some of its history. 

Amenities: The 60 campsites at Lake Kissimmee State Park can accommodate RVs up to 55 feet. The state park has many amenities, including electric hookups, picnic tables, toilets, showers, phone service, drinking water, trash service, and a market for convenient purchases. Pets, alcohol, and fires are allowed at the campsites.
