Best Places to Spend the Holidays in an RV
ShareYou know what makes us feel merry and bright? RV camping! But there’s something extra special about doing it during the winter holidays. Give your loved ones a holiday experience to remember by visiting one of these festive locations in an RV rental.
Asheville, North Carolina
Western North Carolina and the Blue Ridge Mountains are beautiful anytime of the year, but the wintertime is a special time to visit. The town goes all out with decorations, tours and events throughout the season. Dancers, writers, directors and other artists all bring their acts to this famous art community.
While visiting, remember to add the Biltmore Estate – America’s largest home – to your holiday itinerary. It’s a stunning sight, with more than 65 trees, endless candles and dozens of fireplaces decorating the estate. Round out your trip with visits to the Ashville Pinball Museum and the National Gingerbread House.
Colorado Ski Country
If spending the holidays on the slopes is your cup of tea, then Colorado is the place to do it. Spend your days shredding the world-famous slopes at resorts like Breckenridge, Snowmass and Keystone; spend your nights taking in the decorated streets of Estes Park, with its Yuletide Lights attraction and annual holiday pub crawl.
Branson, Missouri
With holiday celebrations that run from the beginning of November through New Year’s Day, this is the place to be for the holidays. Hook up your Cruise America RV in one of the dozens of nearby parks, then venture into Branson for the Ozark Mountain Christmas celebration, which has more than 300 exhibitions. Be sure to make it out to Silver Dollar City – 4-time winner of America’s Best Holiday Event – where they celebrate Old Time Christmas with more than 6 million lights. If a train ride gets you excited, jump on board the Branson Scenic Railway’s Polar Express Train Ride, based on the popular film.

Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
Enjoy feelings of “peace on earth” at one of the most beautiful locations on earth – the Grand Canyon. While the North Rim of the canyon closes between October and May, the South Rim is open year round, giving visitors unparalleled views of the canyon blanketed in beautiful snow. Want to get in some quality time with Santa and his elves? Be sure to hitch a ride on the Grand Canyon’s Polar Express.
