Often compared to Switzerland’s landscape, this is one fall break drive you won’t want to miss. For 25 miles, this winding road boasts views of Southern Colorado’s best terrain, including the towering San Juan Mountains. Late September or early October will give you the most vivid colors.

Columbia River Gorge, Oregon

Oregon beckons the nature lover, with its cascading waterfalls and mountain peaks. Add 80 miles of fall foliage to the mix and an epic road trip through Columbia River Gorge is bucket list worthy. Designated as a National Scenic Area, the Gorge is the largest area to receive the accolade in the country. The Berkshires, Massachusetts
